The sleek silver tabby oriental slipped out of the apprentice's den with a luxurious yawn. Her mentor had recently died, and though she was sad, he had never been the nicest cat in the world anyway and it was sort of karma that he had been killed. Besides, being a mentorless cat meant that you could catch up on your beauty sleep, and of course Orientalpaw was eager to do that. She was an early bird, but recently she had been sleeping in late if just because there was nothing better to do any more. It was all boring, boring, boring, though she wasn't going to be the first to admit that she missed her now deceased, ex-mentor.
Her grey eyes fixed on Kindledpaw. Her parents were of two different clans; she'd never know, but her father was a ThunderClanner while her mother was of ShadowClan. She had had five siblings, but three had been given to ThunderClan and now only her and another, her sister, remained. It had never bothered the runt of the litter, as the two were fussed over greatly, and unlike most other apprentices Orientalpaw truly enjoyed the fuss. After all, if you weren't fussed over, you didn't get to sleep with your [once again pregnant] mother in the nursery if you were upset or had recently had a nightmare. You didn't get an extra piece of prey a day. You didn't have that ultra-close bond with your mother and sister like they all did.
Orientalpaw sidled up to Kindledpaw with a somewhat friendly smile on her maw.
